Welcome to the OOC Decorum Rules Section of the WWU!
Character Content Rules
I'll be honest, I am not much into e-fed or writing fascism. I.E there is no ONE right way to write a character; there is no one universal truth to portraying a story. Also, everyone SHOULD be allowed to be whoever they want to be as far as WRESTLING characters are concerned. If your character is a strict wrestler that is fine. If they are into relationships and storylines of that nature, that is cool too. However, I do believe for the sake of reputation, curtailing OOC drama, and being able to stay in operation, that there are some lines that do need to be drawn.
These fall into two categories:
Offensive Material
1) Depictions of Children in a sexual nature- This should be self-explanatory, but if you are going to involve children in your material, please keep it PG. No sexual abuse. No rape. DO. NOT. DO. IT.
2) Graphic Scenes of Rape- Do not write out graphic scenes of sexual assault. If your character's backstory is being a survivor of sexual assault, be cautious with how you portray that. If you are going to mention it, do not go into full detail or glorify it or really do anything other than gloss over it.
Over powered Characters
1) Realism- This one is a bit more difficult to explain, but I will try my best. This is an angle fed and this is a fantasy game, but we also need to live in the realities of wrestling ...which can of course be stretched. However, to make sure everyone is having fun, I do need to instill some limitations here. Your characters are still going to be human. Sure, our announcers will sell that someone is an alien or a robot or something supernatural ...but the understanding is that they are still a person playing a character for TV. What Lucha Underground does with its characters is what we are going for. They might say Drago is a mythic dragon, but he is still clearly being portrayed by a man.
2) Nerfing Characters- Strengths and weaknesses are fine. Trying to create a character that will not be beatable, while probably fun for the handler and could lead to interesting storyline stuff, it isn't fun for the other handlers and could lead to OOC disputes.
This includes:
-Claiming your character NEVER taps out
-Claiming your character can never be pinned because they are so strong or have amazing reflexes
-Claiming your character can never go over the top rope
-Claiming your character can't be counted out because they are either too fast or do not stay down for that long
-Claiming your character doesn't bleed
-Claiming your character's hair is so strong that it cannot be cut off in a hair Vs. hair match
Now that isn't to say that wrestlers won't be booked as monsters or that there won't be character that SEEM unstoppable, but that is up to the staff to decide, not the handler to make loop holes for themselves. If there is a way you want to be booked, let us know, but don't purposely create a God, so you won't lose.
OOC Decorum
This is the area that I seemingly have the most problems with, though I shouldn't. Most of us are adults, or at the very least in our teens, and thus we should be able to not have a whole lot of OOC drama. Somehow that doesn't seem to be the case with e-fedding. Never really has been. Twitter has seemingly made it worse. Thus some rules need to be laid down to keep everyone content with the fed and how they interact.
1) Inter-handler OOC Disputes- If you have a problem with another handler, be it on here or on twitter, FIRST ...try to handle it yourselves via DM or PM. If that doesn't work, I'll have to get involved ...and I REALLY don't want to be involved in any of that because adults should be able to work out their problems without a mediator. For this reason, I ask that when in a scuffle on twitter, try to work out what is IC and what is OOC before taking anything too personally. If I have to get involved, I will determine if there was any intentional malice from either side and then decide how best to go about extinguishing the situation. If I feel someone is attacking someone else OOC, I will have to discipline that person. Though, again, you should be able to officiate yourselves professionally on twitter.
2) Inter-fed Disputes- Do not bring your beef with another here. Do not slander them in OUR name and do not shit talk them in your content for our fed. I don't care what they did or did not do. We do not fight with other feds.
3) Defending us- If, for some reason, another fed or person is attacking this fed as a whole on twitter or wherever, please do not jump in guns ablazing. Inform me of it and I will try to talk to them about it. Again, I don't want flame wars with other feds and believe that sometimes these "wars" are just abrasive criticisms that could lead to improvements ...and sometimes they are just slander. This is a case by case basis that should be handled by the fed head.
4) OOC Racism, Sexism, Genderism, and any other hate- Your character is your character and if they are prejudiced, that is what they are. I do ask that you don't use slurs or death threats in character ...ESPECIALLY on twitter. However, ANY blatant OOC hate speech on the boards or on twitter is forbidden. If I feel you are using your character to voice these OOC opinions "freely" and not just playing a character there will be discipline.
And that is it for the decorum and rules. If you have any questions, feel free to PM or DM me
